Circle Mirror Transformation is what The New York Times called an "absorbing, unblinking and sharply funny play." Emerging playwright Annie Baker, has us follow five people through a summer of "creative drama" in their small towns' adult acting class. Led by their bohemian acting coach, the five experiment with harmless theatre games that unexpectedly lead to poignant discoveries about themselves and each other. At turns surprisingly funny and subtly insightful, this revealing play reminds us why theatre is the most human of all arts.

Circle Mirror Transformation premiered at Playwrights Horizons in New York in October 2009 for a scheduled month long run. Due to its enormous popularity and critical acclaim (The New York Times called it “absorbing, unblinking and sharply funny”), it was extended several times and ran through January 2010.

We are so grateful to Andersen Glass in Grand Rapids for the loan of two 4' by 8' mirrors and to Loew's of Hibbing for the beautiful, wooden flooring that make our stage look just like the dance studio the play is set in. Please thank those generous stores!
